This is the page that told me not to eliminate line breaks, but it is obvious now that this is necessary and so I edited this page, as follows:

Remove
ਸੋਧੋ- Line breaks. Webpages will normally ignore single linebreaks; so, text broken into different lines (common with scanned text) will usually be seen normally by a reader. Line breaks can cause problems, however (especially with templates, links and tables, and italics/bold that are closed by the line ending), and should therefore be removed.

The other issue, is how to I add help with doing this!!! I am having trouble finding the prefences feature that does this & the I am not even sure I remember how to do the java script thingy--have to look into this!

Then, right in the middle of me trying to figure this out (which works, by the way, except that I had not yet been able to make it smaller without making it look like double spaced), somebody else apparently came in and did this with em|3, which I changed back to em|2.7 to get the " over the "m" in "woman" as per the original; and they, also added a link to a rendition of the poem that is actually a bit different from the one in the short story.
